Reading: a luxuryFor many children in the world reading is a luxury. They only learn some reading from a teacher writing a few sentences on the blackboard. Beautiful material for reading and looking at, however, is completely absent. For these children there is no chance of losing themselves in a thrilling book. Biblionef Nederland promotes the development of children by allowing them to read for themselves with pleasure and by doing so they also help their own community. Biblionef puts new children's books at the disposal of children from 3 to 18 years in disadvantaged areas of developing countries.
 FantasyChildren are curious by nature and have unlimited imaginative powers. They embrace the chances to read and to discover and understand the world around them. The pleasure of reading, preferably in their own language, stimulates literacy and enables children to form a solid basis of knowledge and awareness. Children become proud of themselves and of their own culture. Biblionef plays an important role in this and supports projects that promote reading, such as founding libraries and supplying children's books to the visually handicapped.
