On 17 March the Honorary Consul of Estonia in Rotterdam, together with Mieke Huijsman, a volunteer of Biblionef, visited the schools and libraries of the province of Harjumaa in Estonia. Biblionef Nederland donated a total of 10 pallets with 7500 children’s books. Biblionef plays in this project a modest but important role. This was said by Jan Hoekema during a symposium of Stichting Biblionef Nederland, held on 6 February 2004 in the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the National Library of the Netherlands, in The Hague. As from 1 January the Stichting Biblionef Nederland has had a new director and chairman. Mr Joost P. van Iersel, LLM,  has been official chairman of the foundation from 1 January onwards and is the successor of Jonkheer Max Vegelin van Claerbergen, LLM. Biblionef’s own collection at the Public Libraries in cooperation with Coins for Care has yielded € 66.907,40. Half of this is destined for the activities of Biblionef.
