8 September has been designated World Literacy Day by UNESCO. On this occasion the physics master Jan Dorrepaal and three pupils of 4 HAVO (Senior General Secondary Education) and 4 VWO (University Preparatory Education) of the VCL in The Hague came to Biblionef 's children's book storage library to select books for two schools in Kenya.

Mobile libraries, everyone knows them, but this is indeed a very special one: in India schools are visited by the 'Camel Cart'. This cart - drawn by a camel - with a folding bookcase with library books is very popular with the children. It is thè way to reach these children with reading matter. In April Biblionef sent two boxes with 100 new English children's books to this project. Before long the books will be stored in this splendid mobile library.[more]
