NEW DIRECTOR BIBLIONEF NETHERLANDS

02.04.2012

The board of Biblionef Netherlands has appointed Hanneke Kramps as the new director of Biblionef. Hanneke is a tax lawyer and has experience in both commercial and government areas. Until recently she worked for the Dutch Ministry of Finance / Tax Authorities in management. As a tax lawyer, she has worked for Ernst & Young and Reebok Europe.

As a volunteer, Hanneke has taught Dutch language to women and she also reads to children with language problems.

Hanneke: "I have always loved reading.  As a child, I frequently visited the library in our village.  As I got older, books are still an important part of my life. Due to my experience with reading to children with language problems, I understand how important it is in a child’s development for them to have access to books from an early age. During the last 20 years, Biblionef has donated thousands of books to children everywhere. For me it is very special to be part of such a wonderful organization. There are still millions of children who do not have access to books. Still a lot of work needs to be done to change this”.

The Biblionef Board is very happy to have Hanneke as their new director. “The world of the book is changing rapidly. We believe we have found the perfect person to lead Biblionef through the coming years, and that Hanneke will do this in an inspiring and result-oriented way. She will, in her own way, make it possible for even more children to have access to books.”

International

For the last seven years, Aagje van Heekeren was the Director of Biblionef. Fortunately we do not need to say goodbye to Aagje. Over the coming years Aagie will take up the role of Coordinator - International. Her task is to further expand Biblionef by setting up more organizations, starting with Ghana. For the realization of this project Biblionef is expanding it’s collaboration with existing partners and is also in search of additional funds.
